The Most Searched For Halloween Costumes Of 2016

A fun little post for you today! As it's Halloween, we're talking all things spooky and scary including costumes...

34% of buyers turn to search engines to find their Halloween costume inspiration, sourcing their favourite horror film character or animal. 

According to Google Trends, this year's most searched for Halloween costume isn't your traditional witch (that was actually number 6 in the rank) but in fact Harley Quinn of this years blockbuster Suicide Squad. Number 2 was another Suicide Squad favourite, the Joker. It appears this was a popular theme this year!

We're surprised to see that the clown costume didn't make the top 5 searches, what with the horrifying trend of clowns but we aren't complaining. The less clowns the better...

Halloween is almost here, and superheroes will once again play a starring role at Halloween parties this weekend and for trick-or-treating Monday night. Spending on Halloween costumes is forecast to reach $3.1 billion this year, according to the NRF. Adult costumes will account for $1.54 billion in sales and children’s costumes will account for $1.17 billion, Bing data shows. According to the NRF, 34 percent of people turn to search engines for Halloween costume inspiration. Which costumes are inspiring consumers most this year
